You ever read the novel? Although it has the same repetitive cliches (villains, harem, starting at base cultivation level of the high realm etc) I kinda enjoyed the novel lol
Although I felt the author should have ended it when he returned back to the realm he originally came from and retook everything he lost instead of making another Dragon Ball GT arc

He remembers everything from his past 99,999 incarnates, or past lives but the author of the novel focused only on when he was a Supreme, other lives were mentioned by briefly and vaguely, like how they died young or having a horrible death. The memory loss pill was a rather weak plot device used by the author to make him forget Nangong Yuqing, but you can think of it as a "date rape" drug that wipes only his memory of Nangong Yuqing, so it only makes him forget recent events, Nangong Yuqing to be exact and not his past life. The pill is also a high level pill, and Tan Yun isnt able to counteract it at his cultivation level back then
